Influence of mobile device use on academic performance in university nursing students [Influencia del uso de dispositivos móviles en el rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios de enfermería]

Objective: to analyse the influence of the use of mobile devices on academic performance in university nursing students. Method: A systematic review was carried out, following the guidelines established by the PRISMA declaration, 30 studies published in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science were selected. Conclusion: Smartphone addiction and excessive use of these devices directly impact the quality of sleep, the ability to concentrate and mental health, contributing to an increase in disorders such as anxiety, depression and stress, which interfere with academic performance. However, when used strategically as educational tools, mobile devices can facilitate access to learning resources.
