Conclusion: Excessive smartphone use among university students represents a significant risk to their well-being, adversely affecting sleep quality, mental health and academic performance, as highlighted by multiple studies. However, in controlled contexts, mobile devices can be beneficial educational tools, suggesting that the key is to promote a balanced and conscious use of this technology.
