Self-care of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases [Autocuidado de los pacientes con enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles]

Objective: to analyse the self-care of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases. Method: a systematic review was applied, the population was refined to 15 related scientific articles. Conclusion: Self-care in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases is a crucial element in improving quality of life and preventing complications, with nursing intervention being fundamental in this process. Through health education programmes and continuous support, nurses play a decisive role in empowering patients, promoting self-care behaviours and ensuring greater adherence to treatment.
