Resumen

Objetivo: analizar los factores de riesgo asociados a síndrome metabólico en choferes profesionales. Método: Se llevó a cabo una revisión sistemática, siguiendo las directrices establecidas por la declaración PRISMA, se seleccionaron 15 estudios publicados en PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science. Conclusión: Entre los principales riesgos se encuentran el estilo de vida sedentario, largas jornadas laborales, y el trabajo por turnos, que contribuyen significativamente al desarrollo de resistencia a la insulina, obesidad, y enfermedades cardiovasculares, la prevalencia de apnea obstructiva del sueño en este grupo ocupacional está estrechamente vinculada al síndrome metabólico, lo que agrava las condiciones de salud. La falta de conciencia sobre la diabetes no diagnosticada y otros factores de riesgo metabólicos subraya la necesidad de implementar programas de detección temprana y estrategias de intervención preventiva adaptadas a las particularidades de los conductores profesionales.
