Objective: to analyse the impact of breastfeeding on dental development and the prevention of malocclusions. Method: Systematic review of 15 articles. Results and Conclusion: Breastfeeding proves to be a key factor in healthy dental development and in the prevention of malocclusions, by directly influencing the optimal growth of oral structures and the reduction of harmful oral habits. However, its impact may also be conditioned by factors such as duration of breastfeeding, dummy use and introduction of complementary feeding.
