Abstract

Objective: to analyse the main dental identifiers and their application in forensic dentistry. Method: Systematic review of 15 articles. Results and Conclusion: Dental identifiers, such as the unique characteristics of the dentition, endodontic treatments, restorations and maxillofacial bone structures, are fundamental in forensic dentistry for human identification. Advanced technologies such as panoramic radiographs, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and computer vision have optimised accuracy in the comparison of antemortem and postmortem records.
