Focus and scope

Definition of the journal: Sanitas. Revista arbitrada de ciencias de la salud, is a bilingual scientific journal (Spanish - English), belonging to the Instituto de Investigación Multidisciplinaria Perspectivas Globales (IIMPG), of international character with headquarters in Portoviejo - Ecuador, with a four-monthly periodicity (ordinary issues), following the following order: January - April. May - August. September - December, publishing within the indicated period. Its objective is to disseminate open science from a multidisciplinary approach in health sciences, through the publication of refereed articles of high scientific and methodological value. Covering the following areas: Gerontology, Medicine, Paediatrics, Biomedical Engineering, Electromedicine, Histocytotechnology, Microbiology, Traumatology, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Epidemiology, Anaesthesiology, Pharmacology, Nursing, Bioethics, Deontology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Community and Methodological Innovations, Psychiatry, Psychology. It is aimed at an audience of academic-scientific researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate university students.

It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles in Spanish and English that must have been carried out with the strictest epistemological and methodological rigour in order to contribute to scientific growth. It is governed by the Vancouver publication standards.

Sanitas. Revista Arbitrada de Ciencias de la Salud, adheres to open access policies, following the guidelines of the following declarations: Budapest (BOAI, 2002), Berlin (2003) and Bethesda (2003).

Quarterly (regular issues), in the following order: January - April. May - August. September - December, publishing within the indicated period. 

Proposals of empirical rigour (research), review, reflection, and letter to the editor will be accepted; committed to the critical discussion of the investigative - methodological, social field, debating topics of interest and polemic, being able to be presented from the different research approaches, as long as the epistemological - methodical rigour of each one of them is kept. They are of great interest to the journal.

The articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License. 

Once the editorial audit has been approved, the articles are sent to the referees, under the double-blind peer-review system, which guarantees that there is no conflict between the parties, prioritising the transparency and impartiality of the process.

There is no charge for the processing or publication of articles.
