Objective: to analyse the impact of dentigerous cysts on the development of malocclusions. Method: systematic review. Results and Conclusion: The analysis of the impact of dentigerous cysts in the development of malocclusions shows their relevance as an aetiological factor in the alteration of occlusal harmony, with relevant functional and aesthetic implications. Early detection, supported by high-resolution diagnostic tools such as cone beam computed tomography, and the appropriate therapeutic approach, either by enucleation or marsupialisation, are essential to mitigate the risk of complex malocclusions.
