Objective: To identify strategies to prevent cross-infection by breaching protective barriers. Results and Conclusion: Preventing cross-infection in dentistry requires the integration of traditional strategies with innovative approaches. The use of physical barriers, such as rubber dams, is essential to reduce bacterial contamination during procedures, while the promotion of hand hygiene through portable alcohol gel dispensers significantly improves adherence of clinical staff.
