Abstract

Objective: to analyse intracanal medication from calcium hydroxide + saline vs calcium hydroxide + propylene glycol. Method: PRISMA systematic review of 16 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: Propylene glycol proved to be a superior option due to its ability to maintain a high pH for prolonged periods, facilitate sustained release of hydroxyl ions and improve compatibility with advanced irrigants, making it the most suitable alternative for cases of high complexity and bacterial resistance.
