Abstract

Objective: to analyse the knowledge and strategies for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases in university students. Descriptive observationalmethod. Results: The strategies identified as most effective for STD prevention included condom use (72.5%), human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination (24.5%) and sexual abstinence (20.6%). Conclusion: There was a high reliance on non-validated digital sources for information, as well as inconsistent use of barrier methods, with 32.7% not having access to diagnostic tests, reflecting structural and cultural barriers.
