Objective: To analyse marginal leakage in posterior restorations from a review of the literature. Method: systematic review was applied; the population was refined to 15 scientific articles. Results: Marginal leakage between different materials in posterior teeth, suggesting that hybrid materials may offer better marginal integrity compared to conventional materials in certain types of cavities. Conclusion: The reviewed studies highlight that low-thickness flowable resins, multi-step adhesive systems and the implementation of optimised polymerisation techniques can significantly reduce microleakage, improving the longevity and success of restorations.
