Abstract

Objective: to analyse the effective management of diarrhoea focused on IMCI Plan A. Method: a systematic review was applied, the population was refined to 15 related scientific articles. Conclusion: IMCI Plan A has proven to be an effective strategy in the management of childhood diarrhoea, contributing significantly to the reduction of morbidity and mortality, the rational use of antibiotics and the improvement of primary health care. However, its success depends to a large extent on continuous training of health personnel and institutional support to overcome political and resource barriers. The flexibility of IMCI to incorporate new interventions, such as the use of probiotics, reinforces its potential as an adaptable and effective tool in the control of various forms of diarrhoea, allowing for more comprehensive and efficient care in health systems.
