Resumen

Objetivo: establecer cuál es el mejor retenedor para mantener los resultados postratamiento de ortodoncia. a partir de esta información.  Método: Revisión sistemática PRISMA. Se procesaron 23 articulos, se aplicó la pregunta PICO. Resultados y conclusión: Retenedores fijos: Son eficaces, especialmente aquellos colocados de 13-23, ya que muestran menores cambios en los parámetros de estabilidad en comparación con los de 12-22. Sin embargo, ambos son efectivos si se asegura una buena adherencia en las caras linguales de los dientes. Retenedores removibles al vacío (VFR): También son una excelente opción, pero su eficacia depende del cumplimiento del paciente en su uso regular. La falta de uso puede llevar a recidiva.
