Resumen

Objetivo: analizar las consecuencias del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en la salud oral. Método: Revisión sistemática en 15 articulos. Resultados y Conclusión: Las consecuencias del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en la salud oral son múltiples y abarcan desde el incremento de caries y enfermedades periodontales hasta alteraciones sensoriales y disfunciones en la higiene bucal, derivadas tanto de los efectos directos de estas sustancias como de los hábitos asociados al consumo, factores psicológicos y sociales complican el acceso y la adherencia a los cuidados odontológicos, evidenciando la necesidad de enfoques preventivos y terapéuticos integrales.
